Santa Cruz deputies find teen boys with stolen car and runaway girl
A 12-year-old girl ran away from a group home and was picked up by two teens in Santa Cruz County.
According to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office, on Monday, deputies spotted the car and stopped it in the 100 block of Pauline Road. Inside the vehicle were 19-year-old Miguel Fernandez, a 16-year-old boy and the 12-year-old girl.
“Deputies had found the car had been stolen out of Monterey County,” the sheriff’s office said.
Fernandez was arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of the stolen car. The 16-year-old boy was arrested for possession of a stolen car.
Deputies followed up on the stolen car and found two additional stolen cars in the 30 block of Marchant Street in Watsonville. The cars had been stolen from a dealer in Pajaro.
