Aptos man sentenced for parents’ 2013 murder
An Aptos man has been sentenced for murdering his parents 5 years ago.
Today James Roland Henderson was sentenced to life without parole. Prosecutors say Henderson fatally struck his father with his car and bludgeoned his mother to death inside the couple’s Ridge View Drive home.
Henderson originally pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, however was deemed competent to stand trial.
Henderson recently sent KION a letter claiming he does not deny killing his parents, but says he acted in self defense. In the letter he asks for help defending himself, as he feels his attorney misrepresented him.
