Stolen gun recovered after man points it at Watsonville neighbor

The last of five guns stolen from a Watsonville gun shop was recovered after a man pointed it at his neighbor.

According to Watsonville Police, the suspect pulled a gun on his neighbor during an altercation they had on Monday.

Officers found the suspect, 21-year-old Alexis Meza at a gas station nearby.

According to WPD,Meza was holding a handgun and had several bindles of methamphetamine.

“We later found out that the handgun was stolen from the gun shop (Markley’s Indoor Range) on October 4, 2017,” WPD said.

Police do not believe Meza had anything to do with last year’s burglary at Markley’s Indoor Range. He was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail for drug and gun charges.
