Concord Police officers struck by car during traffic stop in Santa Cruz
UPDATE 9/5/18 9:00 p.m. The California Highway Patrol Santa Cruz said two Concord police officers were hurt after a woman crashed into their patrol car.
It happened just after 3 p.m. on Ocean Street and Broadway. According to the CHP, the officers were trying to catch two suspects and driving on Ocean Street and Broadway when a 30-year-old woman from the Santa Cruz area hit them during a traffic stop.
The CHP said drugs and alcohol are not factors in the crash.
The officers sustained minor to major injuries. Both were taken to Dominican Hospital.
The California Highway Patrol said they will be looking through nearby convenience store video as part of their investigation.
Santa Cruz Police Chief Andy Mills said they were searching for a fugitive.

A law enforcement officer was struck by a car during a traffic stop in Santa Cruz.
Santa Cruz Police Chief, Andy Mills told KION an officer was conducting a traffic stop near Ocean Street and Broadway searching for a fugitive when he got out of his patrol car and was hit by an oncoming car.
Chief Mills said the officer was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive. The officer is not from Santa Cruz PD.

Two suspects are in custody.
Drivers are asked to avoid the Ocean Street and Broadway intersection. The road is expected to be closed for a few hours.
