Man hit and killed by vehicle near Hollister
California Highway Patrol says a man was killed when he walked into oncoming traffic on Highway 25, Friday night.
The accident happened at 10:08 p.m. on SR-25 south of Wright Road, near Hollister.
In a release Saturday, CHP says the unidentified man was on the east shoulder of the highway and, for an unknown reason, walked into the northbound traffic lane directly in the path of an oncoming vehicle.
Emergency responders attempted to help the man, but he died on scene from his injuries. He was not carrying any identification.
The person in the car was not injured.
