Salinas parents accused of killing baby

UPDATE: 8/28/2018 9:42 a.m. Two parents are accused of child abuse that led to the death of their 7-month-old baby.

The infants parents, 25-year-old Hector Aguero Junior and 20-year-old Michelle La Fuente had their hearing at 1:30 p.m. Monday. Both parents are charged with homicide for the death of their baby.

Salinas police were called to the emergency room of a local hospital where the 7-month-old was said to have suspicious injuries.

This happened around 11:45 a.m. on August 7.

The baby was not responding when police got to the hospital. He had bruising from his neck to his knees on his backside and other suspicious injuries.

The boy was taken by helicopter to a bay area hospital.

On August 12, the baby died of his injuries.

His body was examined multiple times, and medical personnel think the injuries were non-accidental.

Both Aguero Jr. and La Fuente were booked into the Monterey County Jail.
