Phone thief arrested for stabbing boy in Hollister
No good deed goes unpunished and a Hollister boy learned that the hard way.
The boy was stabbed after giving a man a ride and letting him use his cell phone.
The incident occurred in Hollister around 10 p.m. Sunday (8/19).
The victim told Hollister Police that a man came up to him at a Quick Stop and asked if he was a gang member. The boy said no and the suspect asked him for a ride to Mission Oaks Trailer park. After arriving to the trailer park, the suspect asked to use the boy’s phone and he said ok.
“The suspect refused to return the phone. The two argued for a short time before the suspect produced a knife,” said HPD.
According to the Hollister Police Department, the two began to struggle and the victim was stabbed. The boy managed to get back in his car and drove away.
HPD went to the crime scene and found the suspect, 21-year-old Christian Adame nearby. He was in possession of the stolen phone and taken into custody.
Adame was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, child abuse and robbery. He was booked on three outstanding warrants.
