Larkin Valley Road reopens following car crash

UPDATE: 8/15/2018 9:28 a.m. Larkin Valley Road outside of Watsonville reopened Wednesday morning after a suspected DUI crash.

The accident happened Tuesday around 4 p.m. when a car hit a power pole.

The California Highway Patrol closed Larkin Valley Road between Highway 1 and White Road for their investigation.

The road just reopened at 5 a.m.

Officers suspect the driver was under the influence. He was taken to Natividad in Salinas with complaints of pain.

Larkin Valley Road is closed due to a solo car accident in Santa Cruz County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a car struck a power pole around 4:10 p.m. Tuesday.

CHP has shut down the road between Highway 1 and White Road. They don’t expect to reopen Larkin Valley Road for about 4 hours.

No injuries were reported.
