Salinas man extradited from Virginia for armed robbery
A Salinas man wanted for armed robbery was recently extradited from Virginia.
According to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, 26-year-old Christian Padilla was identified as being a possible suspect in a February armed robbery case. The robbery took place at the Arco gas station on Vierra Canyon Road in Prunedale.
After reviewing surveillance photos detectives requested an arrest warrant for Padilla.
“During this time, Padilla fled to the state of Virginia,” the sheriff’s office said.
Padilla was recently arrested by the Virginia Sheriff’s Office in Spotsylvania County and extradited back to California. He is being held at the Monterey County Jail on a $300,000 bail.
