Officials responding to grass fire in Salinas
Monterey County Regional Fire is responding to a grass fire on 360 San Benancio road in Salinas.
Fire officials say when they arrived on scene it was about a quarter of an acre, along a fence line.
They are slowing its progress and have not yet canceled their request for Cal Fire’s assistance.
The nearest house is about 100 feet away, and while they are alerting neighbors, no evacuations have been ordered yet.
