Three arrested in Prunedale for zip gun and drugs

Three people have been arrested near Prunedale for having a homemade 12 gauge shotgun known as a zip gun and illegal drugs.

They were pulled over around 11:45 Saturday night after driving recklessly on Highway 101 near Vierra Canyon Road.

Manuel Sanchez of Salinas had an outstanding Post Release Community Supervision felony arrest warrant. He also had a backpack with the zip gun in it.

Brittany Olivarez of Prunedale had a gun, meth and drug paraphernalia. She also resisted arrest.

Ashley Gomez of Prunedale had meth, heroin and drug paraphernalia. She was on Post Release Community Supervision probation.

All three were arrested by Monterey County Sheriff’s deputies and taken to the Monterey County Adult Detention Facility.
