Angela Hernandez, the Oregon woman rescued Friday after driving off a Big Sur cliff, says she suffered several severe injuries.
On Sunday, Hernandez posted her account of the accident on Facebook.
She said she lost control of her car when she swerved to avoid hitting an animal on the road but doesn’t remember the actual plunge over the cliff.
She wrote that she had to break a window to escape from the car and swim to shore. She spent the following days roaming the beach, looking for a way out.
Hernandez said she is suffering from numerous injuries.
“During the first few days after the crash,” she wrote, “I was suffering from a brain hemorrhage. The crash had also caused me to fracture 4 ribs, break and fracture both collar bones, have a lung collapse, rupture blood vessels in both eyes, and experience intense sunburns on my hands, feet, and face.”
Hernandez says to avoid dehydration, she used a small hose from the car’s radiator to drink fresh water seeping from the cliffs above her.
On Friday, she was spotted by two hikers, and transported to a hospital in Templeton.
