18-month-old fatally struck by car near Gilroy
An 18-month-old baby was fatally struck by a car near Gilroy over the weekend.
The accident happened in San Martin, around 5:30 p.m. Friday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, an 80-year-old San Martin woman was parking her blue 2013 Honda Accord in a carport when the 18-month-old either walked or crawled in front of the car.
The infant died due to his injuries.
It was determined drugs or alcohol were not a factor in this case.
