Hot weather at the Garden of Eden
Lots of people are trying to beat the heat on these hot days
And people from all over are dipping into one of Santa Cruz Counties’ natural beauties… the Garden of Eden. It’s located next to Hwy 9 and is part of Henry Cowell State Park. Officials with the park say in the summer the spot can see up to 200 people per day. And while the spot isn’t necessarily dangerous… officials say there have been some injuries.
Sergeant Joe Walters with the park says, “We have had 5 life lights so far this year from the Garden of Eden injuries. It’s due to lack of attention to park rules and regulations. We don’t allow jumping or diving from the rocks, and it’s for public safety. We don’t allow any alcohol consumption at all down there either. “
The spot is about a 30 minute hike from parking the car.
