Group arrested for alleged involvement in graffiti spree

Watsonville Police say a local tagging crew was arrested after a short chase.

Friday a resident reported a group of four people tagging graffiti on Beach Street near Watsonville High at about 3 a.m.

When an officer showed up, two of the taggers took off running.

All four of them were detained and officers say they found several markers. After checking the area, they also found their graffiti on one of the traffic signal electrical boxes, a crossing light, and a garbage can.

All four were arrested.

Officials say this is another perfect example of, “if you see something, say something.”
