Seaside police are investigating a hit and run accident, and say it may not have been an accident at all.

Police didn’t provide details, but told KION it appears the driver of a black Jeep Grand Cherokee intentionally ran into two people outside the Burger King on Fremont Street around 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

There was no immediate word on the condition of two people who were hit.

Police say the SUV likely sustained front end damage from colliding with one of the restaurant’s walls.

They are looking for a black, 2000s model Jeep Grand Cherokee. Anyone who sees the vehicle is urged to call the Seaside Police Department.

Their investigation is in its early stages, but police don’t think it was gang related.
