Man shot and killed on Center Street in Salinas ID’d

UPDATE: 6/22/2018 4:12 p.m. The Salinas Police Department identified the city’s ninth homicide victim of the year.

45-year-old Sergio Carcamo was shot and killed near the 100 block of Center Street on June 11.

ShotSpotter detected multiple gunshots and when officers arrived they found Carcamo suffering from several gunshot wounds.

Carcamo was taken to Natividad hospital where he died.

Investigators don’t know if Carcamo was affiliated with a gang and the motive for the killing is unknown.
