Propane tank explodes during Seaside house fire

UPDATE 6/18/18 5:00 PM: The cause of the house fire is still under investigation.

Officials say it started at the side of the house behind a fireplace. It started at around 1:30 p.m. and caused a propane tank to explode.

A woman and her daughters were in the house at the time, but nobody was injured.

The woman, Guadalupe Ramirez, did not know there was a fire until a neighbor came to the door and told her and her daughters to get out.

The house has damage to the side, but there is not much damage inside the house.

The next door neighbor’s shed caught fire and was a complete loss.

According to Seaside Fire, the structure went up in flames on Nadina Street around 1 p.m. Monday.

Firefighters have since extinguished the flames.

It’s unclear if anyone was injured.
