Helicopter company helping biking duo cross the Mud creek Slide area
The Father and Daughter biking duo riding down the West Coast to raise money for cancer will cross the Mud creek Slide area on Highway 1, thanks to a local helicopter company.
Katelyn and Jerad Cardoza plan to cross through Big Sur as part of their ride from Canada to Mexico to fundraise for pediatric cancer.
One obstacle they are facing is the Mud creek Slide is still blocking part of the road after 2016 rains caused a huge slide.
Specialized Helicopters, a Central Coast helicopter company has offered to take the two for free, with their bikes, over the slide area and drop them off on the other side.
Jerad says the generosity doesn’t stop there, “they’re also taking it a step further and they’ve invited a pediatric cancer patient along for the ride as well and I think that’s going to be a huge blessing for that child and a huge blessing for us as we try to accomplish what we started.”
The pediatric cancer patient is from the Bay Area and has been wanting to take a helicopter ride.
The Cardoza’s say they have gotten so much support from their community of Ripon, California and from many they have met along their journey.
