Man climbs roof, throws rocks and sandbags at Watsonville PD

A man was taken into custody after climbing onto a roof and throwing sandbags and rocks at Watsonville police officers.

According to Watsonville PD, the incident occurred down an alley near the 100 block of Elm Street Friday, after officers attempted to contact the suspect, Noe Gomez for a violation.

“The man (Gomez) decided to hop on the roof of a home and refused to come down,” said WPD.

As more officers arrived Gomez started throwing sandbags and rocks.

Officers were able to talk Gomez down from the roof. He was taken to the hospital and will later be booked into Santa Cruz County Jail.
