Crews respond to fire in Scotts Valley hills
A fire burning in the Santa Cruz Mountains has been contained.
According to Scotts Valley Police, a fire started burning in the hills north of unincorporated Scotts Valley near Quail Ridge Road and Jarvis Road.
Smoke could be seen from Highway 17.
Scotts Valley Fire District responded and contained the flames to a single structure.
“The threat to wildland has been mitigated thanks to the quick response of all crews,” said Scotts Valley Fire.
