Suspected DUI causes fatal car crash on Highway 101
Early Sunday morning, a two car crash on Highway 101 south of Airport Boulevard left one person dead and three with major injuries.
It is suspected that the 21-year-old driver of a Chevy Trailblazer was under the influence while going the wrong way on northbound Highway 101.
The Trailblazer hit a Mercedes sedan head-on with three people inside.
The force of the hit caused the Mercedes to roll onto the east shoulder on it’s side.
The driver and one passenger in the Mercedes were taken to Natividad hospital with major injuries. The other 19-year-old passenger died at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the Trailblazer has been arrested on suspicion of DUI.
