Seaside twins busted with homemade destructive device

Twin brothers are behind bars after authorities found what they’re calling a homemade destructive device inside their Seaside home.

On June 8, The Peninsula Regional Violence and Narcotics Team (PRVNT) and Monterey County Probation Department conducted a probation compliance check in the 1400 block of Mescal Street.

56-year-old Eric Campbell was arrested for an outstanding $80,000 arrest warrant.

“During a subsequent investigation, a homemade destructive device was located. The device was rendered safe with the assistance of the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad,” said Sgt. Jeremiah Ruttschow.

Both Eric and his 56-year-old twin brother, Cedric Campbell were arrested for felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a destructive device and violation of probation.
