Monterey Police continue training for deescalating situations
With protests nationwide over police shootings, Departments (including here on the Central Coast) are re-evaluating ways to de-escalate situations.
Monterey Police tell us they’ve already been doing this, and held their latest session over the weekend.
Police use of force, especially when the subject is found to not have a firearm has become as controversial an issue as there is in the United States. Monterey Police trained over the weekend to make sure their officers make the best split-second decision.
