King City man arrested for attempted murder and armed robbery
Saturday night the suspect in an armed robbery and attempted murder was arrested south of King City.
21-year-old Victor Alejandro Valdez is accused of robbing a house at gun point at the 1300 block of Rhode Island Street in Salinas on June 7.
He asked the 43-year-old man at the house for money. The victim offered $100, but Valdez asked for all of his money and credit cards.
When the victim refused, Valdez allegedly shot him once in the lower body and left. The injury was non-life threatening.
On Friday, detectives, Salinas PD SWAT and other agencies searched the suspect’s house on Pine Canyon Road near King City.
Detectives found enough evidence to charge the suspect, and Saturday night he turned himself in.
He has been booked into the Monterey County Jail for attempted murder, robbery and burglary.
