Identity thieves arrested in Ben Lomond
Three people were arrested in Ben Lomond for being in possession of more than 75 pieces of stolen mail, credit cards, check books and drivers licenses.
Deputies with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office found an RV parked at the end of Newell Creek Road Wednesday night. One of the suspects, Guadalupe Carrera gave deputies a false name. A second suspect, Krystal Sparks was on probation.
During a search of the RV, deputies found a third suspect, Lauren Jones hiding.
Carrera was arrested for giving a false name, identity theft and his warrants.
Jones was arrested for three warrants and identity theft.
Sparks was arrested for being a felon in possession of ammunition, identity theft, and possession of an illegal knife.
All three suspects were booked into Santa Cruz County Jail.
“The Sheriff’s Office would like to remind people to check their credit frequently for fraudulent activity. If your mail has been stolen, you may want to buy a locked mailbox or a local PO box. Let’s all work together to make it harder for the thieves to steal mail.”
