Teen falls 15 feet at Garden of Eden

An 18-year-old man sustained serious injuries after falling 15 feet off a ledge in Felton.

The incident occurred at the Garden of Eden in Henry Cowell State Park around 4:49 p.m. Monday.

Several fire crews responded to the scene, packaged the victim and used a train from Roaring Camp Railroads to get the teen from the woods to a medical helicopter.

“In what can only be described as disappointing behavior, while the train was stopped at the top of the trail to the Garden of Eden and rescuers were loading the patient, some visitors to the area decided to spray paint the side of the train, damaging the train,” said Felton Fire Protection District.

The 18-year-old suffered shoulder and rib injuries and was taken to Valley Medical Center.
