Monterey hosts mental health conference to break down stigmas

Monterey is hosting its first-ever National Alliance on Mental Illness California conference at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa.

The conference is a gathering designed to shed light on the issues of mental health and the need to break down stigmas associated with mental illness.

Among the keynote speakers: Gold Medal Olympian Chamique Holdsclaw, who played basketball with Team USA at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games and struggles with depression.

KION’s Josh Kristianto will have more on the story at 5 and 6.
