Measure G would provide funding for school repairs in the Soledad Unified School District
If passed, Measure G would act as an extension to a current bond that was established in the 90’s in order to build Soledad High School, but is scheduled to sunset.
Measure G would generate a little over $25 million to be used for improvements and upgrades at all eight schools in the Soledad Unified School District. Because Measure G is an extension of what’s currently in place, but set to expire; Superintendent Timothy Vanoli says taxpayers wouldn’t notice a difference in their rates.
“It would be an extension of an existing bond, which means they would be taxed just like the regular property taxes are now. We have needs. The needs are greater than what the monies are. And our student deserve 21st century classrooms,” said Superintendent Timothy J. Vanoli.
Superintendent Vanoli says they’re working on a facilities master plan right now. Once the school board approves that, then they’ll have a list of priorities. In order to pass, the bond measure needs 55% voter approval.
