Two brothers, known gang members, busted with stolen dirt bike in Salinas

Two known Salinas gang members, both brothers, are behind bars Monday morning.

26-year-old Dennis Ortiz and 25-year-old Eric Ortiz were arrested Sunday after officers with the Violence Suppression Unit caught them unloading a stolen dirt bike near Byron Street and Chaucer Street.

Both are known Norteno gang members. Police pulled the brothers over and one was found to be on parole and the other had several warrants for his arrest. Both suspects admitted the bike was stolen and were booked into Monterey County Jail.

The bike was returned to its owner.
