King City man sentenced to two life terms for molesting three children
A King City man was sentenced to forty years to life in prison for molesting three children.
The victims ranged in ages of 6, 13 and 14-years-old.
In April of 2018, 66-year-old Margarito Juarez Zamarron was found guilty of forcible lewd acts on each child. In court, the jury listened to each victim, who are now 15, 18, and 19-years old.
According to the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office, in 2016, one victim reported to the King City Police Department that she was touched in 2006 by the defendant, an extended family member.
Two more victims came forward during the investigation.
“During the April trial, the jury also heard evidence of a 2016 Facebook conversation the defendant had stored in his Ipad wherein he was communicating with another fourteen-year old girl over a period of months. All three victims bravely testified in court before the defendant and the jury,” said the DA’s Office.
The judge sentenced Zamarron to 40 years as well as another term of 25 years to life and a single two year term to run concurrently. A restraining order was placed against Zamarron prohibiting contact with the three victims for ten years.
