Sea turtle stuck in bucket for several years
Video of a sea turtle being rescued from a bucket is making its rounds on social media.
Marine biologists said the poor Hawskbill turtle had been stuck in the remnants of the plastic bucket for several years deforming the turtles shell, creating health issues for the rest of its life.
Divers in Colombia spotted the juvenile sea turtle and helped cut the plastic off.
According to members of Keep Fin Alive, Hawksbill turtles are critically endangered due to poaching for its meat and shell.
The Marine Mammal Center said this video is a stark reminder of the importance of keeping plastic out of the ocean.
