Attempted murder in Watsonville, Saturday night

A Watsonville resident was injured when a man fired into his car, Saturday night. The victim was not hit by any bullets. The Watsonville Police Department is calling the shooting an attempted murder, and they are searching for suspects and the suspect vehicle.

Watsonville Police say it happened at 7:38 p.m.. The unidentified 27-year-old victim was parked on the 200 block of Palm Avenue, when the suspect vehicle pulled up alongside. A man in the front passenger seat fired multiple shots into the victim’s car. The victim was sitting in the driver’s seat, and was not hit by any bullets, but was injured from shards of broken glass that struck his face and arm. He was transported to a local hospital, and has been released.

The victim does not live near the location of the shooting.

Police say the suspect vehicle was described as a black newer luxury type sedan with tinted windows, and was last seen traveling north on Freedom Boulevard.

WPD interviewed witnesses to the shooting, and are searching for surveillance video. They say the suspect vehicle has not been found.
