Tourists have rental car burglarized near Big Sur

Visitors from Spain had their rental car burglarized, Saturday morning near Big Sur. Law enforcement is searching for two suspects.

The couple was visiting beaches along the Pacific Coast Highway, and hid their items underneath their seat when they parked. The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office said two suspects were watching in a parked car behind them.

As the tourists were walking away, they heard a window smash. They say their car was being broken into, and the female suspect grabbed their bag from under the seat. That suspect reportedly ran to an older model black Honda Civic, driven away by the male suspect.

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office says they are still investigating this case.
