Salinas man faces 1 year in jail for recording naked stepdaughter
A Salinas man was found guilty of recording his naked stepdaughter.
In January of 2017, 29-year-old Ivan Rodriguez Guillen’s wife found videos of her naked daughter on her husbands cellphone.
The Monterey County District Attorney’s Office said Guillen had positioned his phone in his 12-year-old stepdaughter’s room so he could watch her get dressed.
“When confronted with the video of his step-daughter, Rodriguez grabbed the phone and attempted to delete the video,” said the DA’s Office.
Salinas Police responded and Guillen denied everything but later confessed after officers told him they could retrieve the video.
The video was later recovered through a forensic examination.
Guillen was found guilty of annoying or molesting a child, unlawful invasion of privacy, and attempting destruction of evidence. He will be sentenced on June 29, 2018. He faces up to one year in jail and mandatory sex offender registration.
