Marina man found guilty of domestic violence & child abuse

A Marina man has been found guilty of attacking his wife in the presence of their three children.

The abuse occurred on August 6, 2017, at Abdul Rahman Rahmani’s apartment.

When Rahmani’s wife attempted to run out the front door, he locked her in and took her cell phone to keep her from calling 911. Eventually the wife got her phone and was able to dial 911.

Marina police officers found Rahmani’s wife bleeding from her mouth with redness and bruises on her face, torso, and arms. The apartment was a mess with items scattered everywhere, and the three small kids crying.

Rahmani was arrested and a criminal protective order was issued commanding him to not contact his wife or come within 100 yards of her. Despite the no-contact order, Rahmani violated this order on September 29, and again on October 5, 2017.

Rahmani was found guilty of corporal injury on his spouse, three counts of child abuse, false imprisonment, interference with a 911 call, and two counts of violating a domestic violence protective order. Each count carries up to one year in county jail.

Rahmani’s sentencing is scheduled for April 18.
