Teen robs victims at gunpoint outside Marina bank

A teenage boy was behind an armed robbery outside a bank in Marina.

According to Marina Police, officers responded to reports of a robbery at Chase Bank located at 264 Reservation Road on Tuesday around 10:40 p.m.

When officers arrived, the victim told police they had a gun pointed at them and were forced to give the suspect their money and cellphone.

While officers searched for a suspect they noticed a man leaving the area near Chase Bank. California State University Monterey Bay Police Department helped set up a perimeter as officers pursued the suspect.

“While conducting an area check within the perimeter a male was seen running away. A Marina Officer pursued the male on foot and subdued him in the area of Crescent Avenue and Reservation Road,” said Marina PD.

The suspect turned out to be a 16-year-old boy. The teen was found with the victim’s money and other property.

The teen was booked into the Monterey County Juvenile Detention Facility for robbery and an arrest warrant.
