Salinas releases new app
Salinas Residents will now have a much easier time letting the city know about problems they may be seeing.
This week, Salinas launched the SalinasConnect service request mobile app for residents to download for free. The app can be used to report various issues to the city just by typing in the problem or taking a picture, and it will automatically be sent to the right department. The new app is designed to hold the city more accountable to resident’s issues, with an official getting back to the resident in about a day’s time.
“They’re happy that we made a difference, that we actually will respond to concerns they have about their community, about their own property, services that are being delivered, or difficulties that they’re having in their neighborhood. So I think in the long run, it’s how we deal with a customer, and we’re putting the customer and the citizen first,” said Salinas City Manager Ray Corpuz.
Residents can report things like potholes, abandoned vehicles, tree trimming, or graffiti. Again, the app is free to use.
