Massive tree falls on Ben Lomond home

A massive tree fell on top of a home in Ben Lomond early Thursday morning.

Fire officials said thankfully nobody was inside the home off Highway 9 when the tree toppled. Crews responded to the incident around 8:15 a.m.

The house sustained roof damage, but no other injuries were reported.

A neighbor told KION he heard the tree come crashing down and thought it was an earthquake.

On Wednesday, the wind and rain uprooted a massive tree in Felton, which slammed into the parking lot and roof of San Lorenzo Valley Elementary School. There were no injuries.

An estimated six staff cars were damaged, some of them were stuck underneath the tree. The multi-purpose building had roof and window damage, and is expected to be closed for the next couple of days.
