Hollister police arrest man in stolen car after short pursuit
A Hollister man was arrested for having drugs, a stolen car and illegal weapons.
On March 20, Hollister Police arrested Cesar Montez Gonzalez after a brief chase.
During the chase, police decided to end the pursuit due to Gonzalez’s reckless actions.
The car he drove was found a short time later in the area of B Street.
More Officers arrived and surrounded the area where Gonzalez was spotted.
He attempted to run away but after a brief foot chase, Gonzalez was taken into custody.
During the investigation, police learned that Gonzalez drove a stolen car, carried a large amount of methamphetamine and had an illegal sawed off rifle in the car.
Gonzalez was booked for resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, evading officers, a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, possessing a short barreled rifle, possession of stolen property, a concealed weapon in a vehicle, possessing drug paraphernalia and two felony arrest warrants.
