Hollister woman dies in weekend crash
A 20-year-old Hollister woman died in a car accident on Highway 101 over the weekend.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred near Buena Vista Avenue around 8:00 a.m. Saturday.
CHP said the woman was speeding in a 1996 Ford Explorer when she rear-ended a Hyundai Elantra. The Explorer flipped down an embankment, ejected the driver from the car and she died at the scene.
Three other passengers were in the Explorer. They all suffered injuries in the crash and were taken to San Jose Regional Medical Center.
The driver of the Hyundai did not suffer serious injuries.
Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a factor in this collision.
