Shooting threat made towards Washington Middle School in Salinas

Another shooting threat has been made towards a school in Salinas.

Administrators at Washington Middle School contacted Salinas Police after finding a shooting threat written on one of the school’s desks.

According to Salinas Police, the threat claimed that the shooting would occur on Wednesday, March 21. SPD told KION they do not think the threat is credible but they are taking it seriously.

The school has sent automated phone calls to parents to notify them of the investigation.

Back in February, Salinas Police responded to Washington Middle School on reports of violent threats made towards other students via Snapchat. School officials and officers called two students in for questioning and it was later found that the threats were not credible. Police say, (though not a funny one) it was what the students saw as a joke.
