Nearly 5,000 without power on the Central Coast

Nearly 5,000 people are without power on the Central Coast.

According to Pacific Gas & Electric, 1,272 customers in Marina have been affected by an electrical outage near Reservation Road. The outage occurred around 4:39 p.m. Tuesday.

Around 4:51 p.m. another outage left 3,457 people without power in Salinas near E. Boronda Rd.

PG&E is working to assess the cause of both outages but expects to restore power by 7:45 p.m.

PG&E said, customers should prepare for outages and remember to stay away from downed power lines, keep others away, call 911 and then PG&E at 1-800-743-5000.
