Two women struck by car in Salinas parking lot, one woman dead
UPDATE: One woman has died from her injuries after being hit by a vehicle.
We are told a driver in their late 60s was backing out when they hit a 87-year-old and an 80-year-old woman. The two women were dragged for a short distance underneath the vehicle.
The 87-year-old has passed away and the 80-year-old remains in serious, but stable condition.
The investigation is continuing and any possible criminal charges will be determined when the investigation is complete.
“Depends on where the investigation takes us, there’s many variables that are taken into account and I’m not prepared to make a prediction at this point,” added Salinas Police Traffic Sgt. Robert Hampson.
