Hundreds come out for “Big Little Lies” extras casting call…
Big Little Lies held an extras casting call on Saturday and the turnout did not disappoint.
Crowds piled into and around the Embassy Suites all in hopes of getting a call back. The casting call started at 10, but hopefuls began lining up hours before.
For most of the day the line went around the perimeter of the hotel then continued about 100 yards into the parking lot. Some people took turns getting out of line to get food nearby, one family even got a pizza delivered while they waited.
The average wait time to get inside was 2-3 hours, then once you were inside you had to leave a headshot and fill out some paper work. But everyone KION spoke with said the wait was worth it knowing they might get a call back to start filming in April.
Casting officials did not specify how many extras they would be needing, but they had plenty to choose from.
People there had many different reasons for coming out to audition.
“We are huge fans of the show big little lies and we thought it would be really fun to maybe be an extra,” says Samantha Grace and Stephanie Sullivan.
There were some younger kids hoping to get their big breaks too. 8-year-old Joelle and Sophie say they have a little experience on stage, “”I took an acting class so my mom wanted to see what it was like doing this.” Sophie says “I’m just her friend so I didn’t really take an acting class but i’ve been on recitals before.”
As for Auliz Manzanarez, he says if the shoe fits, “Maybe I could be in it because I can’t say I’m little, but I am a liar, you know, big little lies.”
Filming will be starting in April.
