Seaside victim stabbed in the head with gardening tool

UPDATE: 3/13/2018 12:05 p.m. Two attempted murder suspects have been arrested for a violent attack in Seaside that left one man in critical condition.

On Sunday, 23-year-old Deion Brown stabbed a man in the head with a sharp gardening tool. Around 11:20 a.m. Brown and 23-year-old Claudia Serrano were in the 1500 block of Yosemite Street when the two confronted the victim. Both suspects took off from the scene and the victim was taken to a local trauma center where he remained in critical condition.

Late Sunday night, officers spotted the suspect’s car at a Marina motel where they were ultimately arrested.

Both Brown and Serrano were charged with Attempted Murder and Conspiracy. Serrano was also charged with Concealing Evidence. Both were booked into Monterey County Jail. Investigators do not believe the incident was gang related.

Two suspects wanted in connection to a violent attempted murder in Seaside have been arrested.

On Sunday, the Marina Police Department was told that 23-year-old suspects, Deion Brown and Claudia Serrano were in the area.

“After receiving the information, officers from Marina began to actively search for the suspects and the vehicle they were reportedly driving as their vehicle was registered to a Marina address,” said Marina PD.

Monday morning, officers spotted the suspect’s car at a local motel where they were staying.

Both suspects were taken into custody and turned over to the Seaside Police Department for booking.
