Rare rainbow waterfall captured at Yosemite National Park

Thousands of people visit Yosemite National Park every year, but it’s likely none have seen Yosemite Falls as colorful.

Stunning video shot in October, 2017 shows the famous waterfalls transform into a beautiful rainbow.

Photographer Greg Harlow explained to Cater News Agency that he and a friend were drinking coffee at Glacier Point while waiting to shoot the famous sunrise over the Sierra Nevada Mountains when he noticed the falls started changing color.

“First it was red, then it worked its way across the spectrum to a full rainbow. We were two of only about ten people to witness this. The spot was empty because it was so windy that morning,” said Harlow.

Harlow said it was a rare sight, but the weather conditions were just right creating a rainbow down the entire 1,450 foot waterfall.

“Magical certainly is the right word. You can see the waterfall off the cliff and get immediately sprayed into mist by the high winds,” said Harlow.

Harlow called the experience one of the most jaw-dropping moments of his career so far.
