1/18/18: The Hollister Police Department said they have identified a suspect of an October sexual assault, but still need help finding the man.
The victim of the sexual assault checked in to Hazel Hawkins Hospital and reported that they were sexually assaulted in downtown Hollister on an unknown date at an unknown time. Hollister Police said they’ve been going through surveillance video of downtown from the last several months.
The Department released photos last week asking for the public’s help identifying the man.
After the release of the photographs, two separate sources came forward with information indicating that 31-year-old Cory Dean Daughtery of Fresno was the subject pictured. Detectives worked with the victim, who was able to provide enough information to obtain a warrant for Daughtery’s arrest on 1/18/18.
Daughtery’s warrant is for rape and other charges, and his bail is set at $130,000. Daughtery currently also has a “No Bail” warrant for a parole violation.
His whereabouts are unknown, as he is believed to be transient, and he may have left the Hollister area. Members of the public are encouraged to call police if they see Cory Daughtery or have information of his whereabouts at 831-638-4115.
