Watsonville Police teach student bicyclists rules of the road

A local nonprofit and the Watsonville Police Department teamed up for a bike event at one elementary school on the Central Coast.

WPD along with the non-profit Ecology Action, joined in on some bicycle fun at H. A. Hyde Elementary School.

Students learned about the rules of the road as a bicyclist, safety tips, and a few even learned how to ride a bike for the first time. The students also learned how to properly fit a safety helmet. They also gave out about 50 helmets to those students who didn’t have one.
