Watsonville man dies in head on crash

A Watsonville man was killed in a two car accident after he veered into oncoming traffic and crashed head on into another car in Monterey County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, 65-year-old Pedro Senties was driving eastbound on San Juan Road, east of Allison Street in a white 1990 four door Toyota Corolla when Friday’s accident occurred. Around 6:30 p.m. Senties veered to the left, crossed over the westbound lane and struck a gray four door Toyota Avalon.

“The Corolla came to rest in the eastbound lane and the Avalon came to rest on the north shoulder of San Juan Road,” said CHP.

Senties died at the scene. The two people in the Avalon were taken to Dominican Hospital where the driver was then transported to Natividad Medical Center.

It’s unclear why the man veered into oncoming traffic.

The collision is under investigation and any witnesses are urged to contact the Monterey CHP office.
